The new plan (a map with labels) has been received (2/20/01) by the Deer Lake Association. It would be a sick joke to say it has been "scaled down!"

1. The launch ramp will be concrete plank construction 100 feet long and 18 feet wide. Mature white pines will have to be cut. A sand bank will be bulldozed.

2. A trench will be dredged, through a wetland, 160 feet from the shoreline into the lake, up to 65 feet wide, and 2 feet deep.

3. There will be 10 parking spaces, "scaled down" from 18.

4. The access road will still come in from highway M-28 with concomittant damage to the shoreline of the pond and adjacent forest.
